Picasso. Matisse. Van Gogh, Kahlo, Warhol. The one-name list goes on and on.
We’ll spend the week demystifying the lives and work with these larger than life artists. We’ll paint some of the most famous (and in some cases, infamous) works of art seen on posters and museum gift shops around the world. Exit at the studio door - you’ll have more than one valuable artwork under your arm.

Summer 2020 - Mexican Moderno - The Great Mexican Painters

An Early Masters first! We’ll dive into the fascinating, passionate, and oh so colorful world of the great Mexican painters.
After Mexico gained its independence in 1821, artists carved out a separate identity for themselves that looked VERY different from those European painters. We’ll spend two glorious days discovering the art, music, and food of Mexico, and its most famous artists including, Siqueiros, Orozco, Tamayo, oh and we can’t forget those two lovebirds, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.
Three days of painting, sketching, music, and fun.

From Soup to Nuts: In this special workshop, we’ll look at the wacky world of the superstars of art.
We’ll delve into the headliners of art - both past and present- and see what makes them tick. From the short life and superstar power of young Jean-Michel Basquiat, to the current man of mystery - Banksy. Brilliant, exciting, and promises to be very messy.

Come to the Côte d’Azur this summer - well, at least we’ll feel transported there through the art of Henri Matisse.
We’ll look at the earliest, craziest color works of his Fauvist friends to Matisse’s very own joyful cut-outs created in the final decade of his life.
A must for those who have taken Matisse before and those new to his world of color.

We can never get enough of our favorite angsty artist. Understanding the life and work of one most compelling figures in art history, takes more than one or two classes. That’s why we revisit him over and over. Good thing he produced over 2000 artworks.
We’ll explore his colorful world, his signature impasto style, and discover the techniques of the artist who fascinates us still.
